Jim created the DEMOLITION-OF-DOOM Illusion with a “Black Hawk Mining Days” theme, while under a 5-year contract for the historic Gilpin Hotel and Casino. Publicity releases on Channel 9 News, KYGO Radio, and “Zack Phillips” KBPI Radio, attracted thousands to both Events.

DROP-OF-DEATH: Illusionist Jim Wright was put in a straitjacket and sealed in a wooden crate suspended by a rope from a giant Crane. The crate and rope were set ablaze under the supervision of the Police and Fire Departments. Then the crate was elevated 80 feet in the air, suspended only by the single burning rope! Suddenly the rope broke, sending the flaming crate plunging to the ground.
The Fire Department rushed to the crate to extinguish the flames. Once the fire was put out, the somber looking Fire Chief turned toward the crowd and removed his helmet... revealing himself as none other than Jim Wright!
DEMOLITION-OF-DOOM: Illusionist Jim Wright was handcuffed around a railroad tie; nailed into a wooden box with his head protruding; a black hood was placed over his head and a rope tied around his neck to prevent escape. Jim and the Box were drenched with gasoline; a one-minute fuse was lit by the “grim Reaper” as he ominously released a 1,000 pound Ore Cart down the track... As the horrified crowd watched, the impact of the Ore Cart demolished and violently exploded the Box!!!
A stunned crowd then witnessed the grim Reaper (50 feet away), laughing as he removed his hood to reveal the magic Jim Wright! Lusty cheering, whistling, and partying ensued in true western tradition.
